Who Moved My Cheese?

Last Sunday, I read a business book entitled, “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Dr. Spencer Johnson. It took me less than an hour to finish it as it is only a short parable-like story.

Who Moved My Cheese? is all about two mice, Sniff and Scurry, and two little people named Hem and Haw, who live in a maze and look for a way to find cheese. The characters portray us – our attitude, beliefs, ambition and fears – while the maze represents our continuing search for what we need and what we believe will make us happy: the Cheese.

This book teaches us how to accept and adapt to change. As life and our environment are always changing, we have to learn how to cope with the challenges that come our way.

As I finished reading, I remembered my high school economics teacher saying, “There is no permanent thing in the world but change.” Yes, the world is constantly moving, and if we do not change, we can become extinct.
.
I think I am more like Hem, still believing that I have already found my cheese here in MalacaƱang. But I know, in due time, I will change into Haw and will be able to move on for the better. How about you? Who are you in the story?

oh this book is very good, my sister gave it to me when I was in an emotional dilemma after I had my miscarriage last year. It helped me a lot in forming a different point of view or opinion about how to accept and go about changes in our lives (and learn to understand what I was going through), not only on our professional career but also on different aspects like living life after an accident or even after your ex-boyfriend. Thanks for the add and it was really nice meeting you all, it has always been my passion to meet the people behind their online presence =)
